Carmela Gonzales

Carmela is a Host, Producer, Writer, and Singer. 

Prior to joining InColour, Carmela was a policy, communications, and marine sustainability professional. She ran operations for an ocean-tech startup in the illegal fishing and maritime surveillance industry where she helped secure $7+ million funding. Prior to that, she advised the United Nations Environment Programme, UN-Habitat, and the Ministry of Environment Japan on a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) related to ocean plastic pollution.

Realistically though, Carmela always wanted to be a performer — and did so — both during and after her Trilingual International BA Honours in Political Science (English/French/Spanish) and MSc in Marine Systems & Policies from the University of Edinburgh.

Her entertainment career kickstarted during her masters when a friend recorded her vocals that later ended up in the AAA video game, Dreams by Media Molecule. From there, she got scouted into ABS-CBN’s talk-magazine-game show, “BRGY” where she is a Host, Producer, and Writer in Tagalog and English.

She now freelances both on- and off-cam in Canada, has ambitions to AD, and while you can likely catch her at her home base in the GTA, she's very likely onto her next international adventure (Carmela loves to travel).
